I PICCIOTTI DA PURTEDDA - AGRIGENTO - SICILIA - ITALIA

L'associazione Folk "I Picciotti da Purtedda" è nata nel Maggio del 2002 con il preciso scopo di portare in giro per il mondo le nostre tradizioni, la nostra cultura e la nostra storia.

Il gruppo è composto principalmente da ragazzi e ragazze, noi abbiamo un'orchestra molto professionale composta da tipici strumenti siciliani come: Fiscaletto, Marranzano, Tamburello, Chitarra, Fisarmonica e il Mandolino.

Le coreografie sono studiate da Maria Rita Napoli, la musica è diretta da Mauro Samaritano e Giuseppe Carbone.

Questo gruppo ha partecipato a molte manifestazioni folkloristiche in tutta l'Italia e in giro per il mondo.

In Sicilia "I Picciotti da Purtedda" hanno partecipato a manifestazioni in quasi tutta la regione, di queste ricordiamo le più importanti come: Palermo e Catania ove si svolge L'Internetional Folk Festival, Il festival del Folklore di Giarre, Festival del Folk "U miu Paisi", senza contare tutte le volte che si è stati a Vicari per la "Sagra del Castello", molto recentemente siamo stati a Caccamo.

Ogni anno partecipiamo al più importante Folk Festival del mondo "Il Mandorlo in Fiore" che si tiene ad Agrigento ogni Febbraio, dove vengono gruppi da tutte le parti del mondo.

In giro per l'Italia ricordiamo due importantissimi festival a cui abbiamo partecipato: quello di Atina (Frosinone) dove abbiamo riscosso molto successo ed un altro grandissimo festival in Calabria.

Come ho già detto prima, siamo stati in giro per l'Europa e questi sono solo alcuni dei festival: Francia (Lurcy Levis), Serbia (Belgrado), Polonia (Zacopane), di nuovo in Serbia (Nis) dove si tiene ogni anno il "Festival dei Studenti", Bulgaria (Razgrad), di nuovo in Polonia "Swidinica" e l'ultimo Folk Festival è stato in Francia (Puy en Velay) dove abbiamo riscosso moltissimo successo.

I tipici costumi siciliani sono composti da scarpe nere antiche, calzamaglia, pantaloncini neri con dei bon-bon ai lati, camicia, gillet e bon-bon intorno al collo. Quello femminile è composta da un lungo vestito con un tamburello.

Il gruppo propone danze popolari dedicate ai pescatori come "Ietta la Riti" che racconta dei pescatori quando tornavano da lunghi viaggio.

Ci sono anche molte serenate come "Nicuzza" che racconta di un uomo che ama follemente una donna e le regala questa splendida melodia.

I musicisti hanno nel loro repertorio una marea di canzoni e tarantelle a dir poco spettacolari!

Una delle canzoni più conosciute al mondo è "Ciuri Ciuri", che come "Vitti na Crozza" è già da tempo nel nostro repertorio musicale.

In ogni esibizione non manca mai il momento per far ballare tutti gli spettatori, con Muzurke, Polke e  Tarantelle, è un divertimento assicurato! Perchè dopo tutto il Folk è questo.

Una breve descrizione di Agrigento dal punto di vista geografico: Nella sua storia questa città ha avuto quattro nomi Ἀκράγας per i Greci, Agrigentum per i Romani, Girgenti Kerkent per gli Arabi ed ora per tutti noi è Girgenti dal 1929. 

La tipica bandiera siciliana è chiamata "Trinacria" è simboleggia le ricchezze di questa terra.
